Tallahassee State Baseball Falls in Series Opener to Northwest Florida Despite Power Surge from Culbreth, Duncan, and McDonald
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – April 22, 2025 – The Tallahassee State College Eagles opened their four-game series against Northwest Florida with an 18-11 loss on Tuesday, despite an impressive offensive performance led by Cade Culbreth and Andrew Duncan.
Culbreth continued his standout season at the plate, launching two home runs to bring his season total to 10. The slugging first baseman went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs, providing a consistent spark in the middle of the lineup.
Center fielder Andrew Duncan also added to the Eagles' power display, connecting for a home run and finishing the day 2-for-5 with four RBIs and a run scored. William McDonald joined the home run party with a solo shot of his own, driving in two runs on the day.
Despite tallying 11 runs on 11 hits, the Eagles couldn't keep pace with Northwest Florida's relentless offense, which tallied 18 runs on 20 hits. TSC used six pitchers in the contest, with Baden Wallace (0-1) taking the loss.
Other notable performances included Gabe Del Fuoco going 2-for-4 with a walk and a run, and Keuri Martinez collecting a hit, two walks, and a stolen base. The Eagles also turned multiple double plays defensively.
The series continues Thursday as the Eagles look to bounce back in Game 2.
