Tallahassee Secures Sophomore Day Victory Over Northwest Florida, 8-5

TALLAHASSEE, FL - April 24, 2025 – On a day dedicated to honoring the sophomores, Tallahassee pulled off an impressive 8-5 victory over Northwest Florida at Eagle Field in their final home game of the season. The celebratory atmosphere was matched with standout performances, leaving a lasting mark on the program.

Sophomore Boone Hosey was unstoppable at the plate, going 5-for-5 with three RBIs, proving to be a driving force for Tallahassee's offense. His flawless hitting performance provided the stability needed to secure the win.

Pitching was another major factor in the victory, as Harbersting Abreu and Justin Morales combined to keep Northwest Florida at bay. Abreu secured the win, pitching 4.1 innings, allowing three earned runs, and striking out five. Morales took over and closed things out, tossing 4.2 innings, surrendering only two earned runs, while striking out four.

Additional offensive contributions came from Jacob Riegel and Reid Harvey, who each homered, while Keuri Martinez notched a stolen base and an RBI to support the effort. William McDonald added to the team's power surge with a double and an RBI.

The sophomores will be on to bigger things as they plan on playing at four year schools. There will be some commitments in the future to look out for. The entire TSC Athletic Department is proud of the sophomores and are excited for thier futures! 

Tallahassee walks off Eagle Field with a well-earned victory, setting the tone for the future while celebrating those who have paved the way.

They are back in action this Saturday in Niceville, taking on Northwest Florida in a double header.
