Bio

Marion Jones enters his first season as Assistant Womens Basketball Coach at TSC. Previously he was the Athletics and Campus Rec Manager for the TSC Athletics deparment. 

Coach Jones is a program manager and analyst with over 20 years of public and private sector experience directing federal and state initiatives for marginalized and at-risk families. As a former high school and collegiate basketball player at Pasco-Hernando State College and St. Leo University, he broke multiple records in steals as a point guard with his keen defensive and ball-handling abilities. His passion for sports is grounded in 20 years of coaching and instructing middle and high school boys and girls at Florida State University Schools, FAMU DRS, and elite competitive teams such as EYBL and Out of the Box Sports where his teams have won state and national championship titles.

Coach Jones received a Master’s degree in Sport Management from Florida State University, and a Bachelor’s degree from St. Leo University in Computer Information Systems. He enjoys team-building and developing players in fundamental skills through hard work and motivation. He believes that great leaders are able to bring out the best in student-athletes through disciple and respect. Growing up in Brooksville, FL, Coach Jones is a loyal Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and excited to support the students, faculty, and staff in their pursuit of collegiate , intramural, and recreational clubs and sports at TSC.
