TSC Eagles Open Season with Exciting Doubleheader Sweep Against Florida Gateway College

Tallahassee, FL  - January 28, 2025 – The Tallahassee State College (TSC) Eagles softball team began their season in dominant fashion, sweeping a thrilling doubleheader against Florida Gateway College in their home opener on Saturday. The Eagles showcased both powerful offense and clutch pitching to secure a 10-2 victory in game one and a dramatic 7-6 walk-off win in game two.

Game One Recap:

The Eagles exploded offensively in the first game, winning 10-2 behind a strong performance from both their hitters and pitcher. TSC amassed 12 hits, with standout performances from Joey Faulk, who went 3-for-3, and Mallory Collier, who drove in an RBI and added a double. Lauren Rifenberg also provided a big contribution, going 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs, while Rosalie Dufresne tallied 2 RBIs of her own.

In the circle, Aubrey Alonso was dominant, earning the win with 5.0 innings of work. Alonso allowed only 4 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 1 batter and walking 4. TSC's defense was solid throughout the game, with some tough moments but ultimately limiting Florida Gateway's opportunities.

The second game was a nail-biter, with the Eagles edging Florida Gateway 7-6 in a thrilling walk-off victory. The game was tied at 6 heading into the final inning, and with two outs, Aubrey Alonso delivered the game-winning hit to cap off an exciting home opener.
