Tallahassee Softball Team Dominates in Doubleheader Sweep Over Thomas University

TALLAHASSEE, FL – March 2, 2025 - The Tallahassee Softball Team showcased an outstanding performance on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader against Thomas University, winning 7-0 in the first game and 8-0 in the second game. The victories were highlighted by stellar pitching and exceptional offensive contributions, including two home runs from Aubrey Alonso.

Game 1: Tallahassee 7, Thomas University 0

The first game saw a dominant pitching performance from Laci Prescott, who threw a complete game, shutting out Thomas University with a 7-0 victory. Prescott (1-0) allowed just four hits while striking out two and walking none. She faced 26 batters and displayed control throughout the game, leading the Tallahassee team to an impressive defensive performance.

At the plate, the Tallahassee offense was led by shortstop Aubrey Alonso, who crushed a solo home run. Alonso also recorded three RBIs on the day. Other key contributors included Victoria Richardson, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Rosalie Dufresne, who finished with two hits and an RBI.

The team's defense was solid despite a pair of errors, with a stolen base from Victoria Richardson adding some excitement to the game.

Game 2: Tallahassee 8, Thomas University 0

In the second game, it was Aubrey Alonso's turn to shine in the pitcher's circle. The senior hurler was dominant, tossing five innings of shutout ball, allowing just two hits while striking out three and walking one. Alonso's control was impeccable as she faced only 20 batters, helping her team secure the 8-0 victory.

Offensively, Alonso continued her dominance at the plate, hitting another home run, this time adding a triple to her impressive stat line. She drove in five RBIs, single-handedly propelling her team to victory. Other offensive standouts included Mallory Collier (1-for-3, 1 RBI), Asia Peart (1-for-3, 1 RBI), and Rosalie Dufresne, who contributed an RBI with a sacrifice fly.

The Tallahassee offense was efficient, collecting 8 runs on 4 hits, and they capitalized on a strong defensive showing to finish the day with another resounding win.
