Tallahassee State Softball’s Rosalie Dufresne Named 2024 Jean Williams Award Recipient

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — June 27, 2025 -  Tallahassee State College (TSC) Softball standout Rosalie Dufresne has been honored with the prestigious Jean Williams Award, presented annually to the top scholar-athlete in the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA). The Jean Williams Award is considered one of the highest individual honors in FCSAA athletics, recognizing outstanding academic achievement, athletic excellence, and exemplary citizenship.

To be eligible for the Jean Williams Award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.30 grade-point average, demonstrate strong character and citizenship, and excel in their sport — a combination Dufresne exemplifies at the highest level.

A sophomore majoring in Physical Therapy, Dufresne has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while making significant contributions to the Eagle Softball program.

As a freshman, Dufresne earned Second Team All-Panhandle Conference honors, finishing the season with a .360 batting average, 3 home runs, 9 doubles, and 21 RBIs.

She elevated her performance even further as a sophomore, earning First Team All-Panhandle Conference recognition. Dufresne hit .340 with 2 home runs, 16 doubles, and 27 RBIs, while showcasing her consistency and durability by playing in every game this season.

"Rosalie is the true definition of what it means to be a student-athlete," said Head Softball Coach Brynn Baca. "She works hard both on and off the field — just a workhorse."

"No one could be more deserving of this award than Rosalie," added Director of Athletics Chuck Moore. "She is the epitome of a student-athlete that any coach or athletic director would want in their program. Her character and work ethic, both on and off the field, enable her to be a leader and role model for everyone around her. That was reflected when she was voted TSC's Female Student-Athlete of the Year. I am unbelievably proud of her and honored to be her athletic director. I'm thrilled to see her continue her success as she has committed to play at Louisiana Tech next season."

Dufresne's dedication to excellence on the field and in the classroom makes her a model student-athlete and a deserving recipient of one of the most prestigious awards in the FCSAA.
