Justin Morales Selected to Dutch U23 National Team

TALLAHASSE, Fla. (8/26/2024) – Current TSC Pitcher, Justin Morales, has been selected to represent the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Upcoming U23 WBSC Baseball World Cup.

Morales is a native of Aruba which is a constituent country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. He's been selected to join the U23 national team that will be competing in the WBSC Baseball World Cup taking place in Shaoxing, China September 6th through September 15th.

"It's an honor to represent my Nation." Morales said. "It's an amazing experience to get this opportunity that not a lot of people get"

This isn't the first appearance for Morales for the Dutch National Team. He competed in the U18 WBSC World cup that saw the Netherlands finish 5th.

Morales joins the Dutch roster as the only teenager, making him the youngest player to compete for the U23 team. He's looking to add a spark to the team and bring the energy for the games in China.

"I want to show them that even being the youngest guy, I am here to compete." Morales added. "I am looking to bring good positivity for my teammates."

Last year for TSC, Morales battled through injury but was able to have some good outings on the mound later in the season. Specifically in a conference game against Gulf Coast State where he pitched two scoreless innings allowing two hits leading to an Eagle win.

This season Morales looks to continue a good end to last season. His goal for the Eagles is to help the team make it to the State tournament. He looks to put up some good performances that earn him a division 1 Scholarship.

You can catch Morales and the Dutch National Team in action starting September 6th against Venezuela, 9:30am local time.
