Eagles Rally Late to Defeat College of Central Florida, 6–5
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - FEBRUARY 17, 2026 — The Tallahassee State College baseball team staged a late comeback Tuesday afternoon, rallying to defeat the College of Central Florida, 6–5, in a hard-fought contest at Eagle Field.
Trailing by as many as five runs in the game, the Eagles refused to back down and mounted an impressive rally. Tallahassee began chipping away before erupting for four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take their first lead of the afternoon.
The Eagles' offense was fueled by extra-base power throughout the game, as six of Tallahassee's eight hits went for doubles, helping spark the late surge and keep pressure on the Patriots' defense.
The late offensive push energized the home crowd as the Eagles capitalized on timely hitting and aggressive base running to complete the comeback.
After taking the lead, the Eagles' pitching staff shut the door in the final inning, securing the 6–5 victory and completing one of the team's most resilient performances of the young season.
Tallahassee will look to carry the momentum into its next matchup as the Eagles continue nonconference play
