Eagle men roll to 3-0
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 27, 2021) – The last time Andrew (Ga.) College visited the Bill Hebrock Eagledome on November 11, 2019, Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team needed a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Eric Hester to escape with a win.
There was no such suspense on Wednesday evening, however, as Tallahassee rolled over the visiting Fighting Tigers, 85-60, to improve to 3-0 on the season.
As was the case in its first two games, Tallahassee benefited from a balanced scoring attack against Andrew.
Etan Collins and El Ellis scored 14 points each while Jeremiah Kendall, DeAngelo Ware and Josh Rubio had 11 each.
Tallahassee took control of the game with a 10-0 run that turned a 6-5 deficit into a 15-6 lead with 13:05 left in the first half. By the 6:42 mark, the lead was 20, following a pair of free throws by Ware. The Eagles ended the half on a 19-4 run and led 54-20 at the break.
Tallahassee was red hot in the first half, connecting on 18-of-33 field goal attempts (54.5 percent) and 7-of-17 three-pointers.
The Eagles led by as many as 38 in the second half.
Tallahassee will host St. Petersburg College at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
