Tallahassee State Men’s Basketball Team Concludes Season with Tough 62-57 Loss to Chipola on Sophomore Day
TALLAHASSEE, FL – MARCH 3, 2025 - The Tallahassee State Men's Basketball team ended their 2024-2025 season on a tough note with a 62-57 loss to Chipola College in a thrilling game on Sophomore Day. The Eagles fought hard until the final buzzer, showcasing their determination and grit, but ultimately fell short against a tough opponent.
The game was emotional, as the team honored its sophomore class before the final whistle. The sophomores – Turner Harris, Tahj Johnson, Justin Britt, Nolan Wells, and Julius Clark – have been pivotal in the development of the program, and their leadership was on full display as they gave everything they had for the team in their final game at home.
Julius Clark led the Eagles in scoring, finishing with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 steal, while Turner Harris contributed 7 points and 6 rebounds. Justin Britt added 8 points and 8 rebounds, and Cole Crissman had a strong performance off the bench with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Despite these efforts, the team struggled with shooting, finishing 37% from the field and 30.4% from three-point range.
While the result was not what the Eagles had hoped for, the game showcased the heart and determination that has been a hallmark of their play all season long. With a solid core of returning players, including Cole Crissman and others, the future of Tallahassee State Men's Basketball is bright.
