TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 22, 2021) – Chipola College scored six runs in the top of the seventh to knock off Tallahassee Community College, 8-3, and finish a sweep of Thursday's Panhandle Conference softball doubleheader.
The Indians took game one, 7-0.
Tallahassee took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth on Stacey Hudson's solo homer to left, leaving the Eagles just three outs away from the victory.
After the leadoff batter reached for Chipola in the seventh, she advanced to second on a sac-bunt and scored on a base hit to center, eluding Hudson's tag attempt at home, to tie the game at 3-all.
The Indians added five more runs in the inning.
Emily Oakes took the loss for Tallahassee.
Tallahassee managed just four hits in the opener, as the Indians got the shutout victory.
Jania Davis and MacKenzie Childs both went 2-for-3.
