Eagles start conference play in Panama City

PANAMA CITY, FL (March 20th, 2022) – Panhandle Conference play is underway for softball, as they traveled to Panama City for an annual round-robin alongside the other teams in the conference.

The Eagles picked up a win in their first game of the weekend, defeating Gulf Coast State 4-2. Isanthe Rouwenhorst (So., RHP) got the start and went the entire way. Trista Knowles (Fr., OF) hit her first home run of the season in the fourth inning. Tallahassee scored all four of their runs in that fourth inning and led for the rest of the game.

The Eagles battled the rest of the weekend but came up short in their remaining three games. Brittany Michael (Fr., RHP) pitched seven innings in the 4-2 loss against Chipola on Sunday. In her start, she allowed just two earned runs while striking out 13 and walking none. Michael leads the team with 55 innings pitched, and a 2.42 ERA.

Raven Little (Fr., INF) went 5-14 on the weekend, with two doubles, two home runs, and five RBI. She leads the team in hits (30), doubles (11), and RBI (31).

Tallahassee continues conference play this week, and are back at home on Tuesday for a doubleheader against Chipola. Game one is scheduled for 4:00 P.M. and will be streamed here.
