Four softball players recognized in All-Panhandle honors

TALLAHASSEE, FL (May 2nd, 2022) – All-Panhandle Conference honors were released on Monday morning, and four Eagle softball players were recognized. 

Raven Little (Fr., INF) was named to All-Panhandle Conference first team. She finished the season with a team-leading .326 batting average, 10 home runs, and 35 RBI. Her home run total was tied for eighth in NJCAA Region 8. 

Little has played two seasons now in Tallahassee, totaling 86 career hits, 20 career home runs, and 60 career RBI.

Kailynn James (Fr., RHP) and Brittany Michael (Fr., RHP) were named second-team All-Panhandle Conference. Both James and Michael contributed at the plate as well as in the circle throughout the season. 

Michael pitched 110.1 innings and had a 2.22 ERA with 107 strikeouts. She led the team in each of those categories and was in ninth place in NJCAA Region 8 in strikeouts. As a hitter, Michael had a .252 batting average and drove in 18 runs. 

James pitched 73 innings with a 4.79 ERA and was tied for the team lead in home runs (10) with Raven Little. James carried a .302 batting average and drove in 32 runs on the season. 

Sheshe Ortiz (Fr., INF) received an honorable mention for her performance during the 2022 season. She hit .293 with 4 home runs and 16 runs batted in. Through two seasons in Tallahassee, Ortiz has racked up 58 career hits, 7 home runs, and 35 RBI.
