TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 9, 2021) – Playing at home for the first time in almost a year, Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team fell to Chipola College, 75-47, on Tuesday evening.
The Eagles are now 1-3 (0-2 Panhandle Conference).
Both teams got off to a rather slow start, with Chipola leading 14-5 after the first quarter. A 22-11 second quarter advantage gave the Indians a 36-16 lead heading to the locker room.
Kyra Smith scored the initial basket of the third quarter, cutting the Eagles' deficit to 18, but they would get no closer.
Smith finished with a team-high 12 points to lead Tallahassee. Polina Nikulochkina added 10.
Rita James came off the bench to score nine and pull down a team-high seven rebounds.
Tallahassee will travel to Northwest Florida State College on Thursday evening for a 6:30 p.m. tip with the Raiders then host Pensacola State College at 3 p.m. Saturday.
