Eagle women fall to NWF State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 25, 2021) – Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball dropped a 63-42 decision to top-ranked Northwest Florida State College on Thursday evening in Panhandle Conference action.

Tallahassee is now 1-8 overall, 0-7 in PC play.

The Raiders saw a much different Tallahassee team than the one it beat 88-26 just two weeks ago.

The Eagles trailed just 17-8 after one quarter and 30-16 at the half. A 10-3 run to open the third quarter, capped by a three from Polina Nikulochkina got Tallahassee within seven, 33-26, at the 6:44 mark of the third quarter.

Nikulochkina hit another three with 5:04 remaining in the third to keep the Eagles within single digits at 38-29.

Northwest Florida State scored the next eight points and finished the quarter on a 10-3 run to lead 48-32 heading to the fourth.

Nikulochkina enjoyed a perfect night shooting and scored 11 total points. She hit both field goal attempts – both three-pointers – and was 5-for-5 from the free throw line.

Her sister, Ana Nikulochkina, had nine points, as did Kyra Smith

Mel Feratovic only scored four points but posted career-highs of 13 rebounds, four steals and three blocks.

Tallahassee will wrap up round two of PC play on Saturday when it travels to Pensacola State College for a 6:30 p.m. tip.
