Top-ranked Chipola too much for TCC 

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 9, 2021) – No. 1 Chipola College outscored Tallahassee Community College, 44-17, in the second and third quarters and defeated the Eagles, 69-40, in women's basketball action on Tuesday evening.   

By winning, Chipola (12-1) kept pace with Northwest Florida State College atop the Panhandle Conference standings. Both teams have 9-1 league records. Tallahassee is now 2-10, 1-9.  

Trailing 14-5 after De'Myla Brown's jumper at the 2:51 mark of the first, Tallahassee scored the final five points of the quarter to trail 14-10.   

Ana Nikulochkina made it eight unanswered points with a long three-pointer and the Eagles were within a point, 14-13, with 8:58 left in the first half. Chipola responded with a 13-0 run en route to a 36-18 lead at the half.   

The Indians used a 22-9 advantage in the third to extend their lead to 58-27.  

Much like the first quarter, Tallahassee dictated the scoring in the fourth, outscoring Chipola, 13-11.   

Ana Nikulochkina and Polina Nikulochkina hit three three-pointers each and led the Eagles with nine points.   

Rita James came off the bench to score eight.   

Tallahassee will travel to Northwest Florida State College on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. tip with the Raiders.
