PRs highlight Eagles’ run at FCSAA Championships

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 30, 2020) – Tallahassee Community College's men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the 2020 regular season on Friday at the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Championships at Apalachee Regional Park.

Running in only its third event of the season, the Tallahassee women did not post a team score in Friday's 5K but all three runners who crossed the finish line posted personal records.

Yesenia Rhoades, who ran a 30:34 on the same course two weeks ago at the TCC Eagle Invite, was almost 90 seconds faster on Friday, finishing in 29:05.

Zoe' Doler, making her season debut, posted a time of 32:43 while Lauren Sanders cut another 2:16 from her October 17 time and crossed the finish line in 37:16.

For the Eagle men, it was a mixed bag of results in the championship 8K.

Mat Maier closed strong over the final 400m to overtake teammate Bryce Bass as the team's top finisher. Maier finished 14th overall in 28:19 while Bass was two seconds behind in 15th. Bass' time of 28:21 marked a PR for the former Leon Lion.

Will Stratton ran his fastest time of the season, a 28:49, finishing 18th

Rodolph Adonis finished 29th in 30:43 while Shawn Marcum was 31st in 31:35.

Austin Erbaio clocked his fastest time of the season, finishing in 32:57, while Elijah Oquendo ran a 33:12.

The Eagle men, who are ranked No. 16 in the NJCAA Division II poll, are currently scheduled to run in the NJCAA Division II Championships in Fort Dodge, Iowa, November 14.
