Tallahassee, Fla. — JANUARY 27 2026 - The Tallahassee State College women's softball team opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion on Tuesday, sweeping a season-opening doubleheader against Reid State Community College with wins of 7–3 in Game 1 and 18–1 in Game 2.
Game 1: TSC 7, Reid State 3
The Eagles used timely hitting and a strong pitching performance to take the opener, 7–3.
Sophomore Mallory Collier powered the TSC offense, going 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, driving in two runs and scoring once. Mouse Henderson added a big day at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, while Camila Holguin chipped in with a 2-for-3 performance and an RBI.
In the circle, Collins Ames earned the win, tossing five innings, allowing three runs while striking out four. Addie Wolf came on in relief and shut the door over the final two innings, striking out two and allowing no runs.
Game 2: TSC 18, Reid State 1
The nightcap was all Eagles, as Tallahassee State exploded for 18 runs on 14 hits, ending the game early due to the run rule.
Collier was unstoppable in Game 2, going 4-for-4 with two home runs and eight RBIs, capping a monster opening day. Over the two games, the sophomore launched three home runs and drove in 10 runs to lead the Eagles.
Camila Holguin continued her strong day with a 3-for-3 performance, scoring three runs, while Ryleigh Booth reached base three times and scored three runs. Joey Faulk added a pair of hits and drove in three runs, and Mouse Henderson contributed a triple and three RBIs.
In the circle, Aubrey Alonso picked up the win after allowing just one run over four innings, while Charlotte Jenks worked a scoreless fifth inning to seal the victory.
With the sweep, Tallahassee State opens the season 2–0 and looks to carry the momentum forward as nonconference play continues.
The Eagles return to action tomorrow, January 28th against Daytona State in a double-header scheduled for 2 and 4pm.
