Eagles Women's Basketball Team Triumphs Over Albany Technical College, 72-56
Tallahassee, FL – January 7, 2025 – The Tallahassee Eagles women's basketball team concluded their regular season on a high note with a commanding 72-56 victory over Albany Technical College. This win sets a positive tone as the Eagles prepare to enter conference play against Northwest Florida this Saturday.
The Eagles showcased a balanced team effort, with standout performances from several players. Santianna Davy led the team with an impressive 22 points, shooting 7-15 from the field and 3-8 from beyond the arc. Davy also contributed 6 rebounds and 4 assists, demonstrating her all-around game.
Ashara Spruill added 13 points, going 6-9 from the field, while Tierra Coleman provided a spark off the bench with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Aiyana Sam was a force on the boards, grabbing 9 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists.
Madeline Penney and Hanna Pettner scored thier first points of the season. Madeline coming back from back to back injuries that have kept her out, put her defender on skates with an impressive behind the back move to lose her defender before burrying the jumpshot.
The Eagles' defense was relentless, holding Albany Technical College to just 56 points. The team collectively pulled down 50 rebounds, with 15 offensive boards leading to second-chance points. The Eagles also tallied 22 assists, showcasing their unselfish play and teamwork.
The Eagles will kick off their conference schedule against Northwest Florida this Saturday in Niceville Florida.
