TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — JANUARY 31, 2026 - The Tallahassee State women's basketball team picked up a key Panhandle Conference victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Pensacola State 58–50 at home.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 2–4 in conference play and 14–9 overall on the season.
Tallahassee State set the tone early with strong defensive pressure and consistent rebounding, limiting Pensacola State's scoring opportunities throughout the game. The Eagles controlled the glass, finishing with a 35–25 rebounding advantage, including 10 offensive boards.
Ashantay Noble led the Eagles offensively, scoring 13 points while adding six rebounds. Madeline Penney delivered an all-around performance with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and a block, while knocking down two three-pointers. Lili Schmitt chipped in 10 points, and Kyana Poitier provided a strong presence inside with nine rebounds to go along with six points.
Off the bench, Alahni Lovett added a spark, contributing six points, three rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Tallahassee State shot 37.5 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line, converting timely shots down the stretch to secure the win.
The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday, February 4, when they travel to Panama City, Florida, to take on Gulf Coast State College in another Panhandle Conference matchup.
